European Night of Museums at UNESCO

19 May 2012

UNESCO, which renewed once more its patronage for the European Night of Museums, participated in this cultural event by opening its doors, on the 19th of May, in collaboration with the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Cyprus to UNESCO. The visit began with one of UNESCO’s most recent acquisitions, the artwork “Cells/Choirokitia” by the Cypriote artiste THEODOULOS Gregoriou. From 8 pm to midnight, the general public is invited to visit the Organization's Headquarters, and discover the rich artistic diversity of UNESCO’s collections. The visitors had the opportunity to discover, among other works, those by Calder, Chillida, Erró, Giacometti, Miró, Picasso, Reitzel or Tàpies, as well as a 2nd century Roman mosaic.
