UNESCO celebrates the International Youth Day on the 12th of August, in order to sensibilize the international community on matters of youth and to promote the idea of youth being the partner and future leader of today’s global society.
The day was established in 1999 by the General Assembly of the United Nations to remind the international community of the importance and the contribution of young women and men in the society. This year, UNESCO organizes the 9th Youth Forum, which will take place in Paris from the 26th until the 28th of October.
